PAST PRODUCTION

I' M BLOOD 2009 :

ASIPKA Theatre Group presented for first time in Greece, the work of Jan Fabre ' I' M BLOOD', in 2009, in CHORA THEATER.

It is a poem - delirium, that the author himself characterizes 'Medieval Tale' and written in 2001 in order for the Avignon Festival, presented at the Palace of the Popes and directed by Jan Fabre.

The group staged the work in a completely different version using footage of people suffering from anemia and other diseases associated with blood at the scene of CHORA THEATRE. The video inserted into the stage action projected on a prontzektora - surprise backdrop made of paper. The translation was made on behalf of the group by Panagiotis Evangelides.

Daily images of horror in the news from war zones, children in every corner of the world who are starving, the invisible war of viruses and diseases, all have a common denominator in the blood. The blood diminishes. The blood exchanged. The blood that resists ... The blood did not cease to be and the main substance, the gift of life and motivation of this performance.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT

Like himself Jan Fabre states on its website, the poem was played at the Palace of Popes, at a no accidential time, since the text came in stark contrast to the supportive policies Vatican brutal crimes in that period in planet.

We saw the project as a hymn to life, in neglected inner life, outside of time and eternally fresh, slips and flees like blood, but it is there, in the silence which enveloped the pulse of ..

It is an ironic allegory that uses the veins and arteries like 'Lord have mercy' and mandala religions, prayer-like frenzy reaches a 'liberation of the self. "

'Frees the self says Fabre for the exit of the project, that  it becomes a sanctuary, a holy harakiri suicide, and the mandala of the arteries and veins reach their crescendo ..

The work begins with the phrase 'We 2009 AD and live forever in the middle ages .. 'which is repeated and then arrives at finding the 'House of the Future is in me' and claiming 'I want to be what it makes me live'

Through a blood anthem writer decides to paint the planet red 'through the purifying influence and rich plane of heme bath ..'

The irony is available to the dark culture of the Middle Ages that are still here, and aims to hit this reality with her own weapons of psalms and prayer, but now leads to a new acquaintance with the divine and with himself that involves

The symbolism of blood as an element that continually cleans itself and glides up to paint over the planet and nobody can hurt because .. all under all .. is blood .. I'm blood, you're blood .. blood .. I go empty from my blood, I speak with the voice to create .. I write with stuff myself .. why the Middle Ages are past.

For us, the phrase.. I want to be what you make me live .. highlights the revolutionary character of the entire text.

The result of this work is the product of a not so exuberant artistic expression but another way of contact with the text which we had to operate like orchestra to express the word ..

Anyway the text has occult character, and If somebody hits a key or remove a note collapses completely.

It is a bright holistic approach to life and we felt much that is a modern art event  ..  A cathartic text.
